THE HISTORY: VICTORIAN SUITE

This room was remodeled in the mid 1980’s when the house was first converted into a bed and breakfast. The antique armoire of flame mahogany (1840) and the bedside Eastlake marble table (1900) reflect the Victorian age. The bed is new and was built by the Mennonites in 2004, in a Victorian style. King size beds were not common in the Victorian era and we wanted this room to be comfortable but also wanted to keep the decor of the period. The antique needlepoint Dutch chair is over 100 years old.

The Bathroom was remodeled in 1985 and again in 2006. We kept the Victorian lights and added some more lighting. The old linoleum floor was replaced with a heated tile floor. The controls for this are on the wall. To turn it on, press in. The dial can be used to control the amount of heat. Please turn the floor off when you leave for the day.

The double shower and the Jacuzzi were added. To use the Jacuzzi, fill the tub with enough water to cover the jets. Press the button on the side of the tub to turn on the jets. It will shut of automatically in 15 minutes or can be turned off manually by pressing the button again. The shower has 2 types of heads and these can be controlled by the lever on the shower wall.
